St. Anger ( English for: "Holy Zorn") is a song by the US metal band Metallica and the first single from the album of the same name St. Anger . The single, released on June 23, 2003, was the first since 2000 ( I Disappear ). The song was produced by Bob Rock and written by Rock, Kirk Hammett , James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich .

background

In the song you can find the line “Fuck it all and fucking no regrets; I hit the lights on these dark sets ”, which almost corresponds to a passage from Damage, Inc. from the album Master of Puppets (“ Fuck it all and fucking no regrets; never happy endings on these dark sets ”).

The original version of the song is 7:21 minutes, the video and radio versions are about two minutes shorter. The video clip was filmed in California's San Quentin State Prison just shortly after Robert Trujillo joined the band. The shooting took place in various areas of the institution in front of hundreds of enthusiastic inmates. The video was presented on May 27, 2003.
