John Moyer 2011

John Robert Moyer (born November 30, 1973 in El Paso ) is an American bass player . Moyer is a member of the bands Disturbed , Art of Anarchy , Operation: Mindcrime and Stereo Satellite . Before that he played in the bands Soak , The Union Underground and Adrenaline Mob .

Career

Inspired by the album 1984 by Van Halen decided to become a musician Moyer. In an interview he explained that two friends played guitar and were still looking for a bassist. At the age of 15, Moyer formed his first band in high school . In 1995 he moved to the Texas capital Austin and joined the band Soak, with whom he released four studio albums. Then Moyer left Soak and switched to the band The Union Underground, with whom he recorded their only studio album An Education in Rebellion in 2000 . The Union Underground disbanded in 2003.

In April 2004, Moyer joined Disturbed as the successor to Steve "Fuzz" Kmak. So far, Moyer has recorded four studio albums with Disturbed, all of which reached number one on the US album charts . Moyer cannot be heard on the album Immortalized , which was released in 2015 , as he was involved in other projects at the time. Guitarist Dan Donegan played the bass on the album . According to Disturbed singer David Draiman , Moyer isn't part of the band's creative process. However, Draiman praised Moyer's style of play as "very rhythmic ". When recording the album Evolution , released in 2018, Moyer only needed two days to record the bass instead of the estimated week. Disturbed was nominated twice for a Grammy and once for an Echo .

After Disturbed took an indefinite break in 2011, Moyer joined the band Adrenaline Mob in early 2012. In May and June 2013 Moyer helped out at five concerts with Geoff Tate's version of the band Queensrÿche . In September 2014, Adrenaline Mob separated from Moyer after Moyer announced on Twitter that he would not be attending various concerts in September of the same year. The band reacted "shocked", while Moyer stated that he had informed his bandmates of his plans a long time ago. Moyer then formed the band Art of Anarchy with Scott Weiland ( Stone Temple Pilots ) and Ron Thal ( Guns N 'Roses ). A year later, Moyer joined the band Operation: Mindcrime, which emerged from Geoff Tates Queensrÿche. At the end of 2017, Moyer founded the band Stereo Satellite with adrenaline mob members Mike Orlando and Jordan Cannata.

At the 2015 Loudwire Music Awards , John Moyer was nominated for Best Bass Player. However, the award went to the bassist of the band Ghost . In addition to bass, he also plays guitar and drums . John Moyer is married and has two children. Austin Moyer leads the music school Natural Ear Music .
