Omertà is the debut album by the American heavy metal - hard rock band Adrenaline Mob . It was released in North America on March 13, 2012 via Elm City Music and in Europe on March 16, 2012 via Century Media .

Emergence

The album was recorded in summer and autumn 2011 and produced by the band itself. The recordings took place in the Sonic Stomp studio of guitarist Mike Orlando . In addition to the four original compositions from the self-titled EP , which was released in August 2011, the band recorded six other songs. The EP did not use the cover version of the Black Sabbath song The Mob Rules . Instead, a cover version of the song Come Undone by Duran Duran was recorded. Lzzy Hale from the band Halestorm can be heard as a guest singer .

Mixed was Omertà by Jay Ruston, who previously with bands like Anthrax and Steel Panther has worked. For songs Undaunted and indifferent were music videos rotated.

The album title Omertà describes the confidentiality of mafia members towards outsiders. The Omertà is part of the criminal organization's code of honor . Guitarist Mike Orlando explained in an interview that the recording ritual is shown graphically on the record cover .

“You cut your finger and burn a card . Our mascot on the cover, Bone Daddy , is trying to pull you in by the way he holds the card. Look, I have something for you. "Come and join our family!"

- Mike Orlando

Some of the lyrics on the album, such as Indifferent , are about Mike Orlando's life. In Angel Sky a love affair of Orlando is described. With Undaunted , Orlando and Russell Allen want to call people to be fearless in certain situations . Down to the Floor, on the other hand, is about drag racing , which Orlando has been doing for over a decade.

Reviews

Bernhard Högl from the Austrian online magazine Stormbringer rated the album with the highest rating of five. Although he remarked that the band “wasn't particularly creative”, he stated that the album had “become a balanced mixture of grooving monsters and all-crushing crackers”. Högl gave the readers an “absolute buy recommendation”. Andrew Bansal from the online magazine Metal Assault described Omertà as an "outstanding achievement" that hard rock fans can enjoy for 50 minutes. Bansal rated the album 8.5 out of ten.

Mike Click from the online magazine Metal Injection, on the other hand, described Omertà as a "waste of talent" and only recommended the album to fans of the band Black Label Society . Reviewer Chrischi from the online magazine Burn Your Ears criticized the album as "a series of unimportant rock / metal, which was produced powerfully and professionally recorded, but did not in the least call up the skills and song hosting potential of the prominent musicians".

Charts

Omertà reached number 70 on the US album charts and sold about 6,600 copies in the United States in the first week after its release. In Switzerland , the album reached number 46 and in the Netherlands Place 84th
