Paul Di Leo

Paul Di Leo (born November 19, 1965 in New York ) is an American bass player from New York. Since 2001 he has been a permanent member of the current Nena band. As a live bass player, he regularly accompanies Enrique Iglesias , Joe Lynn Turner and rock singer Sophia Ramos (has appeared on albums by Big Brother and the Holding Company , Joan Osborne and Michelle Shocked , among others ). Since 2009 he has been a member of the American band Rage and Beyond and from September 2011 to September 2014 he was also a member of the band Fozzy .

Musical development

Paul Di Leo began playing the electric bass when he was 12 . As a left-hander , he plays a right-hand-strung left-hander bass, that is, the low E-string is at the bottom. He learned to play the guitar in the same way. Paul di Leo established himself early on as a sought-after bassist on the music scene in New York and New Jersey . His breakthrough came in the early 1990s through his work with internationally known musicians. Paul di Leo has since worked with many renowned artists, both on stage and in the studio, including Billy Joel , Paul Simon , Steve Gadd , Don Henley , Enrique Iglesias , Carly Simon , Lauryn Hill , Joe Lynn Turner , Howard Jones , Kim Wilde , Udo Lindenberg or M People .

In 2009 di Leo released the CD Corporate Nation with the American hard rock formation Rage and Beyond , which received positive reviews. Other members are drummer Bobby Marks (formerly with Steeler , London , Keel and Dokken ), Karl Cochran (guitarist with Joe Lynn Turner , composer for Kiss ) and singer Ed Terry.

Paul Di Leo also spends his time working in the studio and writing new songs. He produces and mixes regional bands and artists from New York and New Jersey. He has his own studio for this purpose.

In 2011 Paul Di Leo founded the rock band Adrenaline Mob with Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy , Symphony X singer Russell Allen and others, who presented their first album on Friday, June 24th at the "Hiro Ballroom" in New York.

In January 2012 he left the band again because he had scheduling problems with his other musical projects. As a replacement John Moyer was brought into the band by the band Disturbed. From 2011 to 2014 he played in the hard rock formation Fozzy .

Awards

For his work with Nena he got 2 platinum and 2 gold albums , among other things for his collaboration as composer and bassist on the album Willst du geht mit mir .
