Art of Anarchy is an American hard rock - Supergroup . The band was founded in 2014 and has released two studio albums so far.

history

The twin brothers Jon ( guitar ) and Vince Votta ( drums ) had been friends with former Guns-n'-Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal for two decades when Jon approached Votta Thal and wanted to start a new band with him. A short time later, bassist John Moyer from the band Disturbed joined them. The band name was an idea of Vince Votta, who wanted an extreme and uncompromising name that should also make a bold statement. In 2014 the band recorded their debut album which was produced by Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. After the musicians talked to several singers about the project, Scott Weiland ( Stone Temple Pilots , Velvet Revolver ) agreed to sing a song. Weiland later sang the entire album. In addition, the band shot a music video with Weiland for the songs Til the Dust Is Gone and Time Every Time .

After a press release about the band was published in early 2015, Weiland distanced himself from Art of Anarchy. Weiland stated that he was never a member of the band and called the project a fraud. Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal rejected these allegations and referred to the text of the press release, which was also accepted by Weiland. Thal described Weiland's behavior as a disappointment. In the following years, various singers of the band offered themselves, which all interested parties had to cancel for legal reasons. Art of Anarchy were signed to German record label Century Media , which released their debut album Art of Anarchy on June 2, 2015. On December 3, 2015, Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus. In memory of him, the band offered the album for free download shortly before Christmas .

On May 3, 2016, Creed singer Scott Stapp was introduced as the new singer of Art of Anarchy. The first concert in the band's history took place on October 27, 2016 in New York City . In the meantime, the band recorded their second studio album The Madness , which was released on March 24, 2017. Music videos were shot for the theme song and Echo of a Scream . A headlining tour through North America followed in April 2017. In February 2018 , the band sued singer Scott Stapp for refusing to tour with the band and take part in marketing activities.
