Michael Warren Wengren (born September 3, 1971 in Chicago ) is an American drummer . He is a member of the bands Disturbed and Fight or Flight .

Career

Mike Wengren grew up in Chicago and started playing drums at the age of ten, but didn't take it very seriously at first. It wasn't until he was 15 that he took the matter more seriously. In 1994 Wengren was one of the founding members of the band Brawl , which renamed itself to Disturbed in 1996 after singer David Draiman joined the band . Wengren released seven studio albums with Disturbed and sold more than 15 million records. Disturbed was nominated twice for a Grammy and once for an Echo .

In 2009 Wengren recorded the benefit song A Song for Chi with other musicians for Deftones bassist Chi Cheng . Cheng was in a coma for years after a car accident in 2008 and finally passed away in 2013. After the band Disturbed took a break in 2011, Wengren formed the band Fight with Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan and Evans Blue singer Dan Chandler or Flight , who released their first and so far only studio album A Life by Design? published.

Mike Wengren is married with two children. He lives in Milwaukee with his family .
