Evans Blue is a Canadian rock band from Ontario .

Band history

Evans Blue was created in early 2005. The five musicians met through a news exchange, through which they soon found a producer for their first album. Work on her debut album, which was recorded at The Pocket Studios in Toronto , was completed in November 2005. In February 2006, "The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume" was released on Hollywood Records , a Disney Music Group label.

In March 2006 the band went on their first US tour with Taproot . Since then they have also performed concerts with Staind , Alice in Chains , Three Days Grace , Flyleaf and Breaking Benjamin . Also in March 2006, drummer Darryl Brown left the band and was replaced by Danny D from Boston.

After seven months on tour, they started working on a new album. Danny D also left the band. Davis H took over the drums in his place. In March 2007 Evans Blue was nominated for a Juno Award in the New Group Of The Year category. A few weeks later, on May 21, 2007, the single "The Pursuit" was released, which was previously extracted from the new album "The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends". The album was released on July 24, 2007.

On July 28, 2008, Kevin Matisyn was kicked out of the band by vote. Due to musical differences, but mainly because of bad decisions for the band that Kevin would have made, Evans Blue had to part with him, says Parker Lauzon. Kevin Matisyn contradicts this claim on his blog. He was succeeded in February 2009 by Dan Chandler. Kevin Matisyn is now the singer of the band Parabelle.
