Reviews

Dennis Harvey described the film in the magazine Variety as "highly contrived" ( "heavily contrived" ). He has few fresh ideas and unconstrained emotions; the end is "embarrassing" . The film music is "mediocre" .

David Nusair wrote on Reel Film Reviews that, given the participation of Aaron Eckhart, William Hurt, Ian McKellen and Nick Nolte, it was “shocking” how “stupid” the film was. The film could not find a large audience outside of the film festival. The portrayal of Aaron Eckhart was "as expected tangible" ; Ian McKellen often exaggerates - which, however, requires the role he is playing.

background

The film was shot in Vancouver . It had its world premiere on September 9, 2005 at the Toronto International Film Festival .
