Murat Türemiş

Murat Türemiş (born April 24, 1964 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) is a German photojournalist .

Türemiş studied visual communication sciences at the FH Dortmund with Ulrich Mack and Arno Fischer and with Ben J. Fernandez , Parsons School of Design New York.

Türemiş works as a freelance photographer and photographs reports and portraits for German and international print media (for example Stern , Focus , Spiegel and the Turkish National Geographic ) as well as for WDR, including artist portraits. Türemiş's photographs are also printed internationally. The German Turk was co-author in 2000 of the illustrated book Weidengasse: a German-Turkish street in Cologne , to which he contributed numerous photos. Travel reports for the magazines GEO , Brigitte and Merian .

In 2005, Türemiş won second place in the One Vision European Photographic Competition , a Europe-wide competition for the visualization of living environments HIV / AIDS , in the category of professional photographers / Europe. The picture came from a photo report by the journalist about the HIV-positive orphans from Baan Gerda, Lob Buri Province, Thailand .

Türemiş took part in the international exhibition images against war in the Lichtblick gallery, Cologne. Photographs against the Iraq war . The campaign has been running since February 2003 in changing exhibitions and on the Internet. Türemis lives and works in Berlin and Istanbul .
