The Union Underground was an American nu metal / industrial rock band from San Antonio .

history

In the 1990s, guitarists Bryan Scott and Patrick Kennison met at a high school in San Antonio. After both graduated, they founded the studio The Studio Underground and wrote songs together. In 1997 the duo released a self-titled EP that sold more than 5,000 copies. The band was then signed by Columbia Records . The bassist John Moyer and the drummer Josh Memolo completed the band line-up.

In June 2000, the album An Education in Rebellion was released, which stayed in the US album charts for four months and sold over 350,000 times within two years. The band toured in the fall of 2000 supporting Marilyn Manson and a year later took part in the Ozzfest tour. In March 2002, The Union Underground recorded the song "Across the Nation" for a sampler for the World Wrestling Federation .

The live album Live… One Nation Underground was released in 2002 via Portrait Records . A year later, The Union Underground broke up. John Moyer joined the band Disturbed in 2004 .
