Rudy Sarzo (* 18th November 1950 as Rodolfo Maximiliano Sarzo Lavieille Grande Ruiz Payret y Chaumont ) is a Cuban - American Metal - / hard rock - bass player . He played in many bands, such as Quiet Riot , Ozzy Osbourne , Whitesnake , Manic Eden , Dio and Blue Öyster Cult .

Career

Sarzo is already on the album Quiet Riot II of Quiet Riot shown (1978), this was recorded but not from its predecessor Kelli Garni. From March 1981 to September 1982 Sarzo played in Ozzy Osbourne's band and became famous. Randy Rhoads recommended him. While he never recorded a studio album with Osbourne, he played on Speak of the Devil and Tribute . Sarzo is featured on Diary of a Madman , but it played Bob Daisley , who was fired shortly before the album was released.

Sarzo left Osbourne's band after Rhoads' death and joined Quiet Riot in the recording of Metal Health in September 1982 . He recorded various music videos with the band and was voted top bassist of 1983 by readers of Circus magazine . The break with singer Kevin DuBrow led to the separation in January 1985.

He then founded M.ARS with Tommy Aldridge . With Aldridge he played with Whitesnake from 1987 to 1994 and recorded Slip of the Tongue . Sarzo then played again several times for Quiet Riot and recorded albums with the band in 1999 and 2001. In 2004 he played for Yngwie Malmsteen . From 2007 he worked for Blue Öyster Cult. 2011 he played bass for the Dio Disciples . In 2012 it was reported that Sarzo had left Blue Öyster Cult and would henceforth concentrate on his new band Tred with ex- anthrax singer Dan Nelson and on his anime metal project Animetal USA .
