Revolver Golden Gods Awards
The Revolver Golden Gods Awards has been a music prize awarded annually since 2009 for solo musicians and bands from the rock , punk and metal sectors. It is organized by the US music magazine Revolver .

The very first Revolver Gods Awards were presented on April 7, 2009 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles . On May 2nd, the TV station MTV 2 showed a one-hour “special”. The actor Brian Posehn was the presenter of the award ceremony. In addition to the awards, there were guest appearances by Lemmy Kilmister , Glenn Danzig , Maynard James Keenan , Chuck Billy , CM Punk and, unannounced, from Killswitch Engage , Hatebreed , All That Remains and Suicide Silence . Among other things, Ozzy Osbourne was the first to receive an award for his life's work. Other awards went to Vinnie Paul , Isis , the Rainbow Bar and Grill , Death Magnetic by Metallica , Dave Mustaine , Protest the Hero , Slipknot and Suicide Silence , among others .
In 2010, the award ceremony took place again at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Chris Jericho and Andrew WK moderated the event. Surprise guests included As I Lay Dying , Rob Zombie , Fear Factory and The Devil Wears Prada . Lemmi Kilmister received an award for his life's work at the 2nd award ceremony . Other awards went to Rob Halford , Ronnie James Dio , The Dillinger Escape Plan , Maria Brink from In This Moment , Alice in Chains (2 Awards), Zakk Wylde and Jimmy Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold .
In 2011 only Chris Jericho was the moderator of the event. Asking Alexandria and Sebastian Bach had guest appearances . At the awards, the two guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance from Avenged Sevenfold each received the award for best guitarist . Other awards went to Murderdolls , Rammstein , Alice Cooper , The Miz (Wrestler), Black Veil Brides , Mike Portnoy , M. Shadows and Avenged Sevenfold.
Since 2011, the Lifetime Achievement Award has been renamed "Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award" as a tribute to singer Ronnie James Dio , who died of cancer in 2010, who was best in 2010 - just under a month before his death Excellent singer.
On April 11, 2012, the fourth Revolver Golden God Awards took place at Club Nokia in Los Angeles . Chris Jericho was again the presenter of the award ceremony. Prizes were awarded in eleven categories. The awards went to Jinxx and Jake Pitts from Black Veil Brides , Jeremy Spencer ( Five Finger Death Punch ), Nikki Sixx (including Mötley Crüe ), Slash , Slipknot , X Japan , Avenged Sevenfold (two awards), Amy Lee ( Evanescence ), CM Punk , Korn (for The Path of Totality ), Gene Simmons and an Rush .
The fifth awards were presented on May 3, 2013. Award winners are John 5 ( Rob Zombie ), Arejay Hale ( Halestorm ), Lemmy Kilmister , Corey Taylor , Device , Triple H ( WWE ), Slipknot , Tenacious D , Black Veil Brides (for In the End ), HIM and Deftones ( for Koi No Yokan ).
The Revolver Golden Gods Awards took place for the last time in 2014. No prize was awarded in 2015 before the 2016 Revolver Music Awards .
