Murderdolls was an American glam metal and horror punk supergroup .

history

In 1994 Joey Jordison formed a band called The Rejects . In 1999 he met Tod Rex "Tripp Eisen" Salvador on a Slipknot tour , who played Dope for the opening act and later also for Static-X . The Murderdolls developed from the rejects and in 2001 a singer was found with Wednesday 13 . The live line-up of the Murderdolls also included bassist Eric Griffin and drummer Ben Graves. Tripp Eisen later left the band, for which Acey Slade came on as a replacement. In the video for Dead in Hollywood plays Marilyn Manson a guest role.

In 2002 Murderdolls released the debut album Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls on Roadrunner Records . The majority of the songs published on it were newly recorded and slightly changed songs by Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 , the previous group from Wednesday 13. This was followed by an extended tour until 2004.

After that, Joey Jordison paused in favor of Slipknot. Wednesday 13 then released three solo albums that are stylistically based on the Murderdolls. Other members of the Murderdolls were also active in the band Trashlight Vision, which broke up after an album.

Although both Joey Jordison and Wednesday 13 stressed that the Murderdolls were a real band and not a mere project, the group paused until 2010. In March 2010, the release of a new studio album called Women and Children last (German women and children last) announced for the summer of the same year. It finally appeared at the end of August, accompanied by favorable reviews.

In July 2013, Jordison announced in an interview that Murderdolls will no longer record any more songs. Instead he started a new band project called Scar the Martyr . The other members of the band are Henry Derek, Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour).
