Band history
The band was founded in 2005 by singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth. A little later Jeff Fabb (drums) and Blake Bunzel (bass) joined. After a few changes on the bass, a permanent bass player could be won in Travis Johnson.
At This Moment demos began recording and posting on MySpace . With self-organized concerts in the Los Angeles area they caught the attention of the record label Century Media Records and the band got a recording contract. Before the release of their debut album , Century Media sent the band on tour to support Diecast and 36 Crazyfists .
Her first album Beautiful Tragedy was released on March 20, 2007 by Century Media. The band played at Ozzfest that same year . The second album The Dream followed in 2008 . The album peaked at number 73 on the Billboard charts .
In April 2009, In This Moment toured as supporting act for Papa Roach together with Filter through Europe, where they also played shows in Germany. In 2009 Jesse Landry left the group after appearances at the Download Festival and the Warped Tour , with Kyle Konkiel coming in for him. In 2010 the album A Star-Crossed Wasteland was released , which entered the US charts at number 40. That same year, Kyle Konkiel left the band and Travis Johnson took over his position on bass.
Music genre
In This Moment is one of the few American metalcore bands with a female singer. In the beginning the group was deeply rooted in this style of music, but with the album The Dream at the latest , under the direction of the pop producer Kevin Churko, they turned into a very melodic group. In addition, Maria Brink's singing changed from guttural screaming to clear singing.
