Call Me is a 1980 song by Blondie that was written by Giorgio Moroder and Deborah Harry . The song is included on the soundtrack of the movie A Man for certain hours .

history

Originally Giorgio Moroder wanted to compose the song with Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac , but Nicks' contract with Modern Records prevented the cooperation. So he turned to Deborah Harry. At first the song was an instrumental piece called Man Machine , and after a few hours the song became Call Me . The song is about a woman who asks her lover to call her.

The publication took place in February 1980 in the USA, while in Europe it did not take place until April 1980. The punk / new wave song became a number one hit in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom . In the music magazine Rolling Stone , on the list of the 500 best songs of all time , Call Me reached number 283.
