Helena Vondráčková (born June 24, 1947 in Prague ) is a Czech singer and actress .

Life

She began as a singer in the early 1960s and became one of the most popular singers in the Eastern Bloc . She made her film debut in 1969 at the side of her frequent duet partner Václav Neckář as The Insanely Sad Princess . Other film roles followed, most recently in Kamenák 2 in 2004 .

The singer made appearances at the packed Carnegie Hall in New York and received several gold and platinum awards for records sold. National awards are e.g. B. "Woman of the year 2001" (Lady pro, Die 100), singer of the year 2000 (nomination for Vodopad - Academy of Pop Music), Honored Artist 1982, golden anchor Děčín and the silver award Bratislava (international category) in 1982. The latter She had also won several awards in the 1960s and 1970s.

Internationally, she was a competition winner and received awards at the Miss of Festival International Cancao Popular (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Gouden Boot (Belgium), Hitashi Award (Japan), Cerbul de Argint (Braşov, Romania), international festival Olymp de la Cancon (Athens, Greece), Prix de public, Festival Coupe d'Europe (France), Nagrada Pubilca (Split, Yugoslavia), Halk ödülü Müsik Festival (Turkey) and at the international Bulgarian music festival.

In the DFF report “Evenings in the Spotlight” (1981) she was seen alongside Lili Ivanova , Rolf Herricht and Dorit Gäbler .

In 1983 she presented the 63rd Kessel Buntes at the Palast der Republik in Berlin . In other years she was seen several times on the show as a guest star.

In 2007 the singer performed European and non-European concerts, including in Moscow, several talk shows and her own TV program on Czech television.

After she had already unsuccessfully applied for the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 ( men like you only finished 12th), she tried to represent the Czech Republic at the Eurovision debut in 2007 . Her preliminary title Samba was disqualified; The replacement song Ha Ha Ha was also withdrawn, so that Vondráčková refrained from participating in the competition.

On March 24, 2007 she sang the German national anthem in the European Championship qualifier between Germany and the Czech Republic. She skipped a line.

Her younger brother Jiří Vondráček (* 1951) is a composer, musician, actor ( Pan Tau ) and director. Her niece Lucie Vondráčková has also enjoyed success as a singer and actress since the 1990s .

On January 26th, 2010 Helena Vondráčková was one of the guests of honor at the opening of the exhibition “Czech Fairy Tales” in the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin, which was shown for the first time outside of the Czech Republic. The costumes from the fairy tale "The madly sad princess", in which she played the main role, were also on display there. She opened the exhibition with songs from this fairy tale. At the request of the present ambassador of the Czech Republic and the head of the Czech Center, she later sang other titles and was thus the much-acclaimed star of the evening.

Your German producer, copywriter and manager has been Filip Albrecht since 2003 , who wrote the titles “This Night”, “Miracles Happening” and “Very Close to Dreams”. The common hits penned by Filip Albrecht were released on the CD "Ha ha ha".

In 2010 the artist appeared several times in the Prague State Opera (program: "Helena on Brodway"), dubbed one of the main roles in the remake of the fairy tale (Rapunzel / Na vlasku), played the role of Evelyn in the musical (Baron Prašil / Meeting with Münchhausen), released the double album “Recital” and was a star guest at the Belarusian music festival “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.
