criticism
The event met with criticism from the nominations in the individual categories. Many readers of the magazine described this year's contenders for an award as "garbage". Above all, the frequent nominations of Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch were heavily criticized. On Ultimate Guitar joked sarcastically that the "fangirls" very big influence have had in choosing the nominees.
