Before joining Korn, he played with Munky, David Silveria (also founding members of Korn) and Richard Morrel in the band LAPD ( Love and Peace, Dude ). "Fieldy" is the abbreviation of "Garfield" and refers to the comic cat of the same name .

Fieldy plays an Ibanez brand 5-string bass , model SDGR SR5005, also known as the "K5". This bass was specially designed for him. His bass is strung with Dean Markley strings. When playing, Fieldy is known for various slapping techniques such as double slapping, double popping or standard finger-style plucking and his palm muting . His default tuning is: A, D, G, C, F. Although he is left handed, Fieldy plays his bass right handed.

During his youth Fieldy was heavily influenced by hip-hop , which is reflected in his bass riffs . In addition to the bass, Fieldy is also responsible for parts of the merchandising at Korn. He designs t-shirts, caps, stickers, patches and other fan articles for Korn. It is also believed that Fieldy designed all album covers (except for the "Issues"). Before Fieldy started his career as a musician, he sold plants and cleaned carpets. On March 10, 2009, Fieldy's first book called "Got the life - my journey of addiction, faith, recovery and Korn" was released in the US.

Fieldy appeared on Miami Ink where he got a tattoo showing the signatures of his bandmates von Korn. In one episode of the “Loc Dog Show” Fieldy got a tattoo in the well-known “Jungbluth Piercing & Tattoo Studio” in Hamburg.
