David Randall Silveria (born September 21, 1972 in San Leandro , California ) is an American drummer . He is a founding member of the nu-metal band Korn and was also the band's drummer until 2006.

career

Silveria grew up with three siblings (Darla, Tracy and Kelly) in Bakersfield , California. He started playing the djembe (African drum) at the age of four. Although he seemed too young to the other members, he was accepted into the band LAPD at the age of twelve . When singer Jonathan Davis joined the band, it was renamed Korn .

From April 1994 to 2001, Silveria was engaged to Shannon Bellino. The two have a son together (David Jr., born 1997). He and his ex-wife own a sushi restaurant in Huntington Beach, California. In addition, he sometimes works as a model for the Emik stunt crew .

In December 2005, Silveria decided to take a temporary break from Korn's drummer because he was feeling drained.

In 2006 he left the band permanently; his successor was Ray Luzier .
