Fearless Records is an American music label based in Westminster , California . It was founded in 1992 by Bob Becker and focuses on the genres of punk and independent .

history

The label is based in Westminster , California . The label is known among other things in the American pop-punk scene, not least because of the Fearless Flush samplers and punk bites releases, or releases by bands such as Bigwig , Dynamite Boy and later Sugarcult , The Aquabats and Plain White T's , as well as from the post-hardcore band At the Drive-In .

Since then, the label has experimented with their musical direction. Bands such as Blessthefall , Tonight Alive , The Maine , Mayday Parade and Breathe Carolina gained great fame through their collaboration with the record company. The Punk Goes… compilations, in which bands signed to Fearless Records cover well-known pieces from other genres, have been released since 2000 .

The 2005 album All That We Needed by the Plain White T's turned out to be a breakthrough, both for the band and for the record company. The single Hey There Delilah reached number 1 in the US singles chart and achieved multiple platinum awards. In 2011 the album Hell Is What You Make It by Breathe Carolina was released . The single Blackout advanced to another success for the label. It rose to number 32 and has since reached the gold record . On November 22nd, 2010 the label's first compilation was released, which was completely geared towards Christmas. Eight artists of the label wrote their own Christmas pieces, which were published as part of this compilation. This compilation is called 'Tis the Season to Be Fearless . In 2012, a Punk Goes Christmas sampler was released instead .

In October 2012 the subsidiary label Old Friend Records opened , which mainly specializes in indie rock . In November 2013, the opening of the second subsidiary label, Outerloop Records, followed . The first band to sign to Outerloop Records is the metalcore band Ice Nine Kills . In mid-November 2017, Shan Dan Horan, who previously worked for Century Media and was president of the record company Artery Recordings, was introduced as the new head at Outerloop Records.

With As It Is , Oceans Ate Alaska and Follow My Lead , the group signed bands from the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland for the first time . In May 2015 the label was acquired by the Concord Bicycle Music Group , which already owns the record companies Wind-Up Records , Sugar Hill Records and Vanguard Records . The music company paid approximately $ 10 million for this. Founder and President Bob Becker will continue to run the record label.

On May 15, 2018 it was announced that Fearless Records had announced a collaboration with Razor & Tie . Accordingly, Razor & Tie will be run as a subsidiary of Fearless Records in the future. Both companies belong to the Concord Bicycle Music Group. Starset's signature at Fearless indicated a future cooperation between the two music companies. Starset was previously under contract with Razor & Tie. Jenny Reader and Andy Serrao have been Co-Presidents at Fearless Records since December 11, 2018. Both were selected by label founder Bob Becker, who announced his resignation.
