The group of four consists of singer Patrick Miranda, guitarist Ira George, bassist Austin Cressey and drummer Spencer York. The band signed a contract with the record company Fearless Records in August of the year they were founded, although the band had only played one concert and released three singles on their own. The contract runs for an EP and three albums.

The group completed their first two concert tours in August with Worthwile and a month later with Sianvar . On March 11, 2016, Movements released their debut EP Outgrown Things via Fearless Records. Between 5 and 30 March 2016, the band toured with Real Friends by North America where the tickets each cost only five dollars. The bands played at rather unconventional concert venues, including VFW halls, skate parks and bowling centers . In early summer, the group was the opening act of the first stop on Pierce the Veil's Misadventures Tour .

In February 2017, the musicians began work on their debut album together with producer Will Yip, who already recorded the band's debut EP. Immediately after the release of their EP Outgrown Things , the musicians began writing the first pieces for the band's first full album. The album, entitled Feel Something , was released on October 20, 2017 and entered the US album charts at number 191 , where it stayed for a week. In total, the band worked on their work Feel Something for almost 19 months . A week before the release, the group started a concert tour with Knuckle Puck , which will end on November 19, 2017. Immediately afterwards, the group will play their first concert tour through several European countries , including Germany , Austria , Switzerland and the United Kingdom .

The band spent the summer of 2017 on the entire Warped Tour . The band was also nominated in the Best Underground Band category at the Alternative Press Music Awards .

music

Movements' music is described as a mixture of “shallow indie rock and posty emo ”. There are also a few elements of post-hardcore , with singer Patrick Miranda completely dispensing with screaming and shouting on the album "Feel Something". Not so on your EP "Outgrown Things", here scattered screamings and shoutings are used, which fit well into the sound design. The band's first releases evoke musical similarities to Title Fight , La Dispute and Touche Amore . She is now regarded as one of the most important representatives of the newly emerging emo wave.
