Youth in Revolt is a pop-punk / post-hardcore band from New Jersey founded in 2013 .

history

Youth in Revolt was founded in 2013 in the US state of New Jersey . The first line-up consisted of the singers True Arahil, Kenny Torres and Vinny Navarro, drummer Devin Bosque, the two guitarists Bob Ash and Alex Ramos and the electric bass player Vinny Neogra. However, Ash, Navarro and Neogra left the band after a few months, so that a new musician was integrated in George Shrouder (electric guitar) and Screamer Kenny Torres switched to bass. Bosque left the band in 2014 and was replaced by Scott Baker on drums.

On May 7, 2014 it was announced that the group had signed a record deal with Outerloop Records - a joint venture between Fearless Records and Outerloop Management . On the same day, the first single There for You from the debut EP was released. Contact with the label came about via detours. After the group had sent out several demos, Brian Judge from Outerloop Records became aware of the group and decided to manage it. Jugde helped the group to record their demo professionally and was then given a trial contract for an EP. Due to the success of the EP, the band signed a recording deal for five studio albums. On June 17, 2014, the EP Love Is A Liar's Game , which has five songs, was released by the record company. On September 11, 2011, the band celebrated the premiere of their new music video for Love Is A Liar's Game from the EP of the same name.

Between August 7 and 23, 2014 the group played their first noteworthy concert tour. The group acted as the opening act for Slaves on the thirteen-show tour. The group announced the last concerts of the Welcome to the Resistance Tour of Crown The Empire to open. Between September 11 and 20, 2014, the group gave seven concerts in Pennsylvania , New York , Kentucky , Connecticut , North Carolina and Alabama . Between October 1 and November 3 of the same year, the group supported For All Those Sleeping and Capture the Crown on their Not Your American Idols co-headlining tour, which led through the United States and Canada . In addition, were Palisades and Ice Nine Kills to see on this concert tour.

Youth in Revolt covered Royals by Lorde for the sampler Punk Goes Pop 6 , which was released on November 17, 2014 via Fearless Records . On November 1, 2014 the group was selected for the South by So What ?! announced, which took place between March 20 and 22, 2015 at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie , Texas .

The band spent the summer of 2015 on the Warped Tour . Originally, the debut album should be released in the fall of the same year. However, singer True Arahill left the band. The group was inactive until October 2016, when a completely new line-up for the band and the release of their debut album The Broken announced for January 20, 2017. Since the band was restructured, bassist Kenny Torres and guitarist Alex Ramos are the only remaining founding members who are still active in the group. They are supported by singer Tanner Allen, drummer Arvin Sarathy and second guitarist Chris Coletti.

The debut album The Broken , announced for January 20, 2017, was released late on February 17, 2017, together with the release of the single The Broken / Not Givin Up .

style

Youth in Revolt play a mixture of pop-punk and post-hardcore , which can be compared to Sleeping with Sirens . The clear vocals are also reminiscent of Kellin Quinn at times . The group mainly values the vocals for their sound. The song of the same name from the EP is similar in places to Who Are You Know from the album Let's Cheers to This by Sleeping with Sirens from 2011.
