Capture (until 2017: Capture the Crown ) is a metalcore band from Sydney , Australia, founded in 2010 .

history

Capture was founded in 2010 by Blake Ellis ( electric guitar ), Jye Menzies (electric guitar) and Jeffrey Wellfare ( vocals ) as Capture the Crown in Sydney . Drummer Tyler March as well as bassist Kris Sheehan were integrated into the band in 2011.

On December 3, 2012, the group signed a contract with Sumerian Records . On December 18, 2012, the debut album 'Til Death was released worldwide. Cameron Mizell and Joey Sturgis worked on this album .

In 2013, the group toured extensively in the United States , including as opening act for Of Mice & Men , Every Time I Die , Chelsea Grin , Like Moths to Flames and Hawthorne Heights . It was planned to release an EP called All Hype All Night , but this EP was never released, even if a single with Rebearth was already released. The reason is that Sumerian Records dropped the band due to musical-creative differences.

An announced tour of the UK has been canceled. For this purpose, the group announced a crowdfunding project to finance the production costs for a new EP. At the end of the campaign, the group was able to raise $ 22,000 and produce the EP. This is called Live Life and was released in early 2014. Blake Ellis left the group in late 2013 and was replaced by Maurice Morfaw on bass.

On April 9, 2014 it was announced that the group had signed a record deal with Artery Recordings . On June 2, 2014, the group announced their second album, Reign of Terror , for August 5, 2014. In July and August 2014 followed a tour through the USA with Chiodos , Blessthefall and I Killed the Prom Queen . In October, guitarist Jye Menzies and drummer Tyler March left. A few days later, Kris Sheehan also announced that he was leaving the band. In a statement, Maurice Morfaw ( electric bass ), Ryan Seretti ( drums ) and Kyle Devaney ( electric guitar ) were introduced as new band members. Morfaw played in Capture the Crown in late 2013.

The new single Lost Control was released in early 2017 , and the group also announced a USA tour. At the end of March it was announced that the group had changed their band name to Capture .
