Trancecore or electrocore is a subgenre of post-hardcore .
development
Trancecore, which combines post-hardcore with elements of electronic dance music , originated in the early 2000s. The British band Enter Shikari, founded in 2003, is considered a pioneer . However, several online magazines ascribe the band I See Stars a pioneering role in this genre due to their debut album 3-D , which is very well known in the scene . In Europe today there are several well-known acts that can be assigned to this genre, including Enter Shikari, Tasters from Italy and Fail Emotions from Russia . From Germany , Eskimo Callboy , We Butter the Bread with Butter and His Statue Falls represent this genre.
In the United States , We Came as Romans , Vampires Everywhere! and Attack Attack! one of the most famous bands that play trancecore. In Argentina belongs DENY the most famous Trancecore bands.
Musical characteristics
Some post-hardcore bands use computer-generated trance - or electro sounds - in their music . What differentiates the style from typical post-hardcore, besides the influences just mentioned, are the vocoder voices. In contrast to the Nintendocore , whose most important representative is Horse the Band , no “8-bit Nintendo sounds” are used, but rather atmospheric trance leads.
Trancecore is characterized by the same instrumentation as in post-hardcore, the use of breakdowns as in metalcore , of synthesizers and auto-tune effects in vocals. In the genre itself, dynamic transitions from quieter ballads to heavier metalcore pieces are possible, sometimes even in the same piece. Through the use of electronic music, for example, a fusion of post-hardcore and trance , dance , techno , electro and dubstep can also be called trancecore.
