To the Rats and Wolves was a trancecore band from Essen, founded in 2012 .

history

The band, founded in 2012, emerged from the last line-up of the disbanded deathcore band Beast War Returns. The band consists of the two singers Dixi Wu and Nico Sallach, the two guitarists Danny Güldener and Marc Dobruk, as well as the bassist Stanislaw Czywil and the drummer Simon Yildirim. Before joining To the Rats and Wolves, Yildirim was a drummer with We Set the Sun , which was under contract with Redfield Records .

Just a few months after the band was founded, the debut EP Young.Used.Wasted was released at the beginning of 2013 , which was recorded by Eskimo callboy guitarist Daniel Haniß. Between March 6 and 22, 2014 the group played as an opener for Her Bright Skies , Iwrestledabearonce and Eskimo Callboy through Germany , Switzerland , the Netherlands and Italy . Only in Austria and the United Kingdom did the group not play.

This was followed by appearances at the Mair1 Festival , Bochum Total and Olgas Rock , before the group toured Germany again in autumn of the same year as the main support for Eskimo Callboy .

In January 2015 the group was booked for the Summer Breeze in Dinkelsbühl . At the beginning of May 2015 the debut album Neverland was released, which was also self-financed and produced by Daniel Haniß. The exclusive sales partner is EMP Merchandising . On October 9, 2015, the group started as the opening act for We Butter the Bread with Butter on their Wieder Geil Tour , whose first concert took place in Reithalle Strasse E in Dresden . After 16 concerts, two of them in Austria, the concert tour ends on December 18, 2015 in Hamburg . In November 2015, the group announced they had signed a record deal with Arising Empire .

In 2019, the band announced on social media that they would split up in early 2020. A farewell tour took place in January 2020 in four cities in Germany. Singer Nico Sallach then joined the German band Eskimo Callboy , with whose members he was friends before.
