The Mair1 Festival ([ Mɛə wʌn ], made up of M ontabaur, Air field and One ) is a music festival and open air festival founded in 2007 under the name Mach1 Festival in Montabaur in the Westerwald , which takes place annually on the last weekend in June. Rock , metal , punk , hardcore punk and related styles primarily perform at the festival .

The festival did not take place in 2016 and 2017. The reasons given were the strong competition on the festival market.

Surname

The old name Mach1 was derived from the Mach number , which is intended to signal the seamless transition between two stages and is derived from aviation, since the event takes place on an airfield. For trademark reasons, the name may no longer be used from 2011. On October 26th, 2011 the festival was renamed Mair1 Festival . The name was derived from Montabaur Airfield One .

Festival site

The festival site is the glider airfield in Montabaur , which is located between the city and the neighboring community of Holler .
