Anchors & Hearts is a German melodic hardcore band from Bremervörde that was founded in 2012.
history
The band was formed in 2012 and released the EP Cast Off that same year . There were also appearances at the Mair1 Festival in Montabaur and the Deichbrand in Cuxhaven . The group also played with groups like Caliban , Deez Nuts and Liferuiner . In 2013 the debut album Based on True Stories followed , which was recorded in the studio of guitarist Timo Buck. The sound carrier was mixed by Daniel Bernath from Übersound Productions in Hamburg , while it was mastered by Olman Viper in the Hertzwerk Studios , also in Hamburg .

According to the band's biography, the group wanted to stimulate thought with Based on True Stories and thus “put off niche thinking, show more tolerance and ask yourself more often whether you are really still going through life openly and honestly or just chasing after some ideals to get straight into Picture to fit ”. According to wltu-music.de, the band play melodic hardcore on cast off , with the vocals alternating between clear vocals and shouts . When it comes to songwriting, the band orientated itself on US-American groups like A Day to Remember and Across Five Aprils . According to Sebastian Wahle from the Ox-Fanzine, the band plays on Based on True Stories Hardcore Punk , which can be classified between This Is Hell and more recent releases of Comeback Kid . According to Dominik Winter from Metal Hammer, the group plays a mixture of melodic hardcore, ( pop ) punk , screamo and metal on the album , so that such a release on a label like Burning Heart Records and Epitaph Records would have been conceivable 15 years ago . The band combined " lightning- fast rhythms - powerful grooves , melodic leads - edgy riffs , clean college rock vocals [and] aggressive screams". The songs would all be similar in structure and they would invite you to sing along. The music is comparable to the works of Millencollin , Pennywise , Rise Against , Across Five Aprils, A Day to Remember and Kid Dynamite .
