Liferuiner is a melodic hardcore band from Toronto , Canada, founded in 2004 . The band sees itself as a joking counter-movement to the masses of straight-edge bands in this scene.

history

Founded in 2004 in Toronto , Canada , the band consists of singer Jonny O'Callaghan, guitarist Mike Short, bassist Burton Lavery and drummer Terrance Pettitt.

In the founding year, the demo EP Are You Offended Yet was released , which was financed out of pocket. The band signed a record deal for an album with the Tribunal Records label . The debut album No Saints was released through this label in 2007 . In June of the same year the band switched to Rise Records . However, the record deal was canceled after just under four weeks. So there was another change of record company. Liferuiner initially signed an album with Uprising Records . The second album Taking Back the Night Life was released through this label in 2008 . The contract with Uprising Records was extended, so that the third album Sons of Straight Edge , which was released in 2011, was also released on the label. Another label change followed in 2013 to inVogue Records . The fourth album was released there in 2013. It's called Future Revisionists .

At a concert by the band in Dayton , Ohio in September 2009 , the band was attacked by strangers.

On May 25, 2013, the 13-concert Canada tour started, which was accompanied by Being as an Ocean . The concert tour ended on June 9, 2013.

Between April 4 2014 to May 3, 2014 toured as the opening act for Liferuiner Norma Jean by Europe . This tour took Liferuiner through the United Kingdom , Germany , Spain , Denmark , Norway , Sweden , Austria , Hungary , France , the Czech Republic , Italy and Belgium . The tour ended with an appearance on the Groezrock .

In January 2016, Liferuiner released their second EP entitled Nomads .
