Hearts Wake is a melodic hardcore / metalcore band from Byron Bay , Australia , founded in 2006 and currently under contract with UNFD .
history
Hearts Wake was formed in 2006 in Byron Bay and consists of Jake Taylor ( vocals ), Ben Nairne ( electric guitar ), Eaven Dall (electric guitar), Kyle Erich ( electric bass ) and Caleb Burton ( drums ).
The group's debut EP, called Into the Storm , was self-released in 2007. The debut album The Gateway , which was released a year later, was also financed out of pocket. In June 2010 the group was in the studio with Dan Brown to record a split EP with the progressive metal band The Bride from a suburb of Sydney . This was released in late 2010 via New Justice Records .
In July 2012 the group signed their first professional recording deal with UNFD . The label debut album Divination , which was recorded in the United States by Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studios , was released on August 31, 2012. The group toured between August 30 and September 8, 2012 with Like Moths to Flames and Hand of Mercy as support on Dream On's homebound tour , Dreamer through Australia . The album debuted at number 27 in the domestic charts. After the homebound tour, four shows followed at the end of September as the opening act for Enter Shikari .
At the end of March 2013 the group played four concerts in New Zealand . In June, the group toured Australia again as headliners. Counterparts , The Storm Picturesque and Stories appeared as opening acts . The first European tour followed in September with Landscapes as the opening act for The Amity Affliction . The Brothers in Arms tour went through Belgium , Germany , the United Kingdom , France and Austria . In Hearts Wake also opened for The Amity Affliction's Australian tour, together with Chelsea Grin and Stick to Your Guns .
In March 2014, the band first appeared at the Soundwave Festival . Before that, the group did a headlining tour of Australia in January and February 2014. Hand of Mercy and Hellions appeared as opening acts . The tour was called the Skydancer Tour and was meant to serve as an advertisement for the single of the same name as well as for her Skydancer project.
On May 2, 2014, the band's second album, called Earthwalker , was released worldwide through UNFD. The Earthwalker Australia Tour took place from June 4 to 15, 2014 to promote the album in Australia . The band was accompanied by Dream On, Dreamer , Being as an Ocean , Endless Heights and Sierra . In early March 2015, the band's third studio album was announced for May 2015. This is called Skydancer and is supposed to continue the concept that the group had started with the previous album. The group recorded the album at the same time as Earthwalker.
