Northlane is a hardcore punk / metalcore band from Sydney, founded in 2009 .

history

The group released the EP Hollow Existence in 2010 as their first phonogram. The debut album Discoveries followed a year later . The second album Singularity (2013) entered the Australian charts at number 3 and stayed there for two weeks.

The group toured with Structures and Texas in July by Canada . She was also the opening act for While She Sleeps and House vs Hurricane on their Australia tour. In 2013 she played at the Soundwave Festival .

In October 2013, the group toured for the first time as part of Never Say Die! Tour through Europe , to which Emmure as headliner and u. a. Carnifex and I Killed the Prom Queen were among.

At the ARIA Music Awards , Northlane was nominated for Singularity in the Best Hard Rock / Metal Album category. The album was also nominated for Album of the Year at the J Awards . The radio station Triple J voted Singularity for album of the year. Northlane won an Artist of the Year award at the Blunt Magazine Awards .

At the beginning of 2014, the group toured Australia as part of the Big Day Out , followed by the first headlining tour of the USA in mid-February , before the group also toured the USA at the end of February as the opening act for Bring Me the Horizon and Of Mice & Men . From mid-March to early April, she traveled through Europe with Architects . In April 2014 Northlane played at the Impericon Festival in Leipzig .

In September 2014, the Australian label UNFD announced a partnership with Rise Records , whereby the Discoveries and Singularity albums will be reissued exclusively for North America. A few days later, on September 13, 2014, singer Adrian Fitipaldes announced that he was leaving the band due to personal and health problems. The promised European tour with Heaven Shall Burn , Parkway Drive and Carnifex in December 2014 was not up for grabs. On November 21, 2014 Northlane released their new single Rot and their new front man Marcus Bridge. The group recorded their third album Node in March 2015 with producer Will Putney . It was released at the end of July and rose to number 1 in Australia , as well as in the British and US album charts , making the group chart entries outside Australia for the first time.
