Structures (often also Struc / tures ) is a metal band from the Canadian Toronto , which metal core with elements of Progressive Metals connects. Because of this, it is often referred to as part of the Djent movement.

history

The band was formed in early 2009 after singer Nick Xourafas, guitarist Spyros Georgiou and bassist Spencer MacLean, who previously played in a band called Charitys, met guitarist Brendon Padjasek and drummer Andrew McEnaney, both of whom were in other bands from Toronto and formed the band Structures with them. In April 2010 the then 17 to 19 year old musicians released their debut EP All of the Above , which they had produced and distributed independently. This was followed in October of the same year on a tour with Abandon All Ships , Woe, Is Me and Liferuiner , which led across Canada. During a tour through North America with Arsonists Get All the Girls , Volumes and Fall in Arechea , the band announced that they had signed a record deal with the US label Sumerian Records , on which they wanted to release their first studio album.

In October 2011, appeared with Divided By the debut album of the band as planned on Sumerian Records. Between April and May 2012 the band played their first tour through Europe with Veil of Maya , Betraying the Martyrs and Vildhjarta . In November 2012 the band could also be seen in Europe alongside Parkway Drive , Emmure and The Word Alive . In May 2013 the band played another tour of Canada with Texas in July , Northlane and Intervals .
