history

The guitarist Aaron Marshall founded the Intervals project in 2011th In his own recording studio in the same year he recorded the EP The Space Between , which was produced by Periphery bassist Adam Getgood. At the same time, Marshall was looking for more musicians to play concerts. Guitarist Lukas Guyader and drummer Anup Sastry joined the band. However, the musicians did not find the right singer, so Intervals continued as an instrumental band. In autumn 2012 the second EP In Time was released, on which Olly Steele from the band Monuments and David Maxim Micic from the band Destiny Potato contributed guest solos. For the song Epiphany one was music video filmed and published.

Intervals played numerous concerts in Canada and the USA in support of Between the Buried and Me , Structures and Texas in July . In autumn 2013, the band recorded their debut album with producer Jordan Valeriote. The position of bassist was initially taken over by Mike Semesky, who previously played with The HAARP Machine . A short time later, Semesky switched to the position of singer. Early 2014 the band toured for the first time in Europe together with Protest the Hero , TesseracT and The Safety Fire . The position of bassist took over Henry Selva, who previously played with The Human Abstract . The debut album A Voice Within was released on March 4, 2014 and reached number 187 on the US album charts . Music videos were shot for the songs Moment Marauder , The Escape and Siren Sound . In November 2014, Mike Semesky announced that he was leaving the band.

In March 2015, Intervals released an instrumental version of the album A Voice Within on the Bandcamp platform . Three months later, Lukas Guyader and Anup Sastry also left the band after the musicians could not agree on the further development of the band. Aaron Marshall led the band on alone and began work on the second studio album. Guest musicians include bassist Cameron McLellan (Protest the Hero) and drummer Travis Orbin ( Darkest Hour ).
