Vildhjarta is a Swedish metal band that formed in 2005 in Hudiksvall .
history
The band was founded in 2005 by guitarists Daniel Bergström and Jimmie Åkerström and bassist Johan Nyberg. Together they made demos and distributed them mainly over the Internet. As all members were spread all over Sweden, they exchanged their ideas mainly via email. During this development phase, other members joined the band. This was followed by several concerts and appearances at festivals in Europe such as the Euroblast Festival in 2010.
After this performance, the band began work on their debut album. While working on the album, the band looked for a suitable label and found it with Century Media in spring 2011. Then the band went into the studio and recorded 16 songs, which Jens Bogren ( Opeth , Devin Townsend ) mastered.
On November 25, 2011, the debut album Måsstaden was released.
style
The band plays a version of metal that is often described as a djent . She is compared to bands like Meshuggah , Textures , Tesseract and Xerath . The songs are polyrhythmic and deal with personal problems and feelings. The singing is both clear and guttural .
