Like Moths to Flames is a metalcore band from Columbus , Ohio, founded in 2010 . The group has released two albums and an EP through Rise Records so far . The debut album When We Don't Exist was released in Europe via Nuclear Blast .

history

Foundation and first publications

Like Moths to Flames was founded by Chris Roetter in early 2010. Before that, Roetter was a singer for Emarosa and Agraceful . In the latter group, however, he only played for a short time. Over time, Zach Huston ( rhythm guitar , background vocals ), Jodran Matz ( drums ), Aaron Douglas ( electric bass , background vocals) and Aaron Evans (rhythm guitar, background vocals) joined Roetter. The first single was released on February 7, 2010 and is called Dead Routine . An EP then followed on December 14, 2010. This is called Sweet Talker . The EP was released through Rise Records . The musicians announced on October 17th, 2010 that they had signed a record deal with Rise Records. After the EP was released, Jodran Matz left the group. Matz was replaced by Lance Greenfield on drums.

Debut album: When We Don't Exist

After the group spent most of 2011 touring, the musicians decided to move into the studio in the middle of the year and work on the debut album. Douglas left the group and Evans, who was originally active as a guitarist in the band, switched to bass. Eli Ford, a former My Ticket Home member , became the group's new second guitarist. When We Don't Exist was released on November 8, 2011 via Rise Records in North America . In Europe the album was released through Nuclear Blast .

In January 2012 the group toured the US with DRUGS , Hit the Lights and Sparks the Rescue . A concert tour with Texas in July and Hundredth followed in the course of the year . Lance Greenfield was replaced on drums by Kevin Rutherford, who stayed with the band for only a few months. The former drummer of the group The Air I Breathe has been active with Like Moths to Flames since 2012 .

Second album: An Eye for an Eye

In early 2013, the group headlined the Rise Records tour , which led through the USA. The opening acts were Palisades , Crown the Empire , The Color Morale and My Ticket Home . The musicians later announced that they would work on the second studio album with Will Putney. On May 29, 2013, the group announced that the album will be called An Eye for an Eye and will be released on July 9th. The album debuted at number 62 on the US charts and stayed there for a week. The group spent the summer of 2013 on the Warped Tour . A European concert tour followed in November 2013 as the opening act for Parkway Drive , Memphis May Fire and We Came as Romans . The concerts took place in Germany , Denmark , Sweden , Poland , the Netherlands , Belgium , France , Switzerland , Spain , Italy , Austria and the United Kingdom .

Between January and March 2014 the group toured with Fit for a King , Stray from the Path and The Plot in You as opening act for For Today on their Fight the Silence Album Release Tour .
