The Plot in You is a metalcore band from Findlay , Hancock County , Ohio , formed in 2010 .

history

Singer Landon Tewers founded The Plot in You in 2010 under the name Vessels as a musical side project to his work as guitarist with Before Their Eyes . Tewers found a first permanent cast in the two guitarists Josh Childress and Anthony Thoma as well as in the bassist Ethan Yoder and drummer Cole Worden. After the release of their EP Wife Beater , Tewers recognized the band's potential, left Before Their Eyes and gave the group its current name The Plot in You. The band signed a contract with Rise Records .

By the time she signed with Rise, Tewers had already started working on material for her debut. The result was First Born , which was officially released on April 19, 2011. In 2011 and 2012 the band toured extensively through North America, playing with groups like A Bullet for Pretty Boy , Miss May I , Whitechapel , Within the Ruins , Iwrestledabearonce and Oceano . At the end of 2011, Anthony Thoma announced his resignation from the band to return to school. His last tour was the group's first Australia tour as the opening act for Buried in Verona . Thoma was replaced on guitar by Derrick Sechrist, who was previously active on A Bullet for Pretty Boy.

In November 2012 the musicians announced their second album, Could You Watch Your Children Burn , which was also released in mid-January of the following year via Rise Records. Drummer Cole Worden announced his departure from the band after a tour with Attack! Attack! in order to be able to concentrate on his further professional future. Kevin Rutherford, former drummer for Like Moths to Flames , replaced Worden. However, it became known that Rutherford had not been active in the group since mid-2014. As a session drummer, Alex Ballow from Erra helped the musicians out with live performances.

In 2014, the band mainly spent creating new material for their third album. The musicians also announced their separation from their previous label Rise Records. In July and August, the musicians toured with Like Moths to Flames, followed by a mini-tour with Myka, Relocate . In the summer, The Plot in You announced their collaboration with the Stay Sick Recordings label , which was founded by Attila singer Chris Fronzak . In July 2015, Tewers announced that The Plot in You would release their third album, Happiness in Self-Destruction , on Stay Sick Recordings in October of the same year. In February and March 2016, the band embarked on another concert tour of the United States as an opening act for Blessthefall and Miss May I .

On June 1, 2017, it was announced that The Plot in You would be part of the seventh edition of the Punk Goes series and cover the piece Let It Go by James Bay . Two weeks later, the group released Feel Nothing and announced their signature on Fearless Records . In mid-November, the fourth album, Dispose , was announced for February release. Starting on February 28, 2018, the band will complete a tour with We Came as Romans through the United States, which will end on April 8, 2018.

music

Until the release of their fourth album Dispose, the group was known for their typical metalcore sound, which featured screaming , hard breakdowns and a moshing- inducing intensity. On Dispose the screams step into the background for a vulnerable R&B- inspired clear vocals. The musical hardness is still there on Dispose , but this is balanced out by the use of electronic samples, soaring refrains and catchy melody structures.
