Blessthefall ( proper spelling blessthefall or BLESSTHEFALL ) is a post-hardcore / metalcore band from Scottsdale, USA, founded in 2004 .

history

2004–2007: foundation and debut album

The band Blessthefall was founded in 2004 in the American city of Scottsdale near Phoenix , the federal capital of Arizona , by rhythm guitarist Mike Frisby, lead guitarist Miles Bergsma, drummer Matt Traynor , bassist Jared Warth, keyboardist Andrew Barr and front singer Craig Mabbitt , when they were still attended high school . Andrew Barr left the group a year later, as did lead guitarist Miles Bergsma, who enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston . With Eric Lambert, who replaced Bergsma on lead guitar, the band recorded a three-track EP .

Through their local appearances with Greeley Estates and their open religious orientation, the group brought in good press, as well as a recording contract with the Warner subsidiary Science Records . This was followed by a tour with Alesana and Norma Jean through the United States and Canada. On April 10, 2007, the debut album His Last Walk was released , which meanwhile has sold almost 65,000 times in the USA. Between September and October 2007 the band toured with Escape the Fate , Dance Gavin Dance , LoveHateHero and Before Their Eyes . The band toured with Protest the Hero , All That Remains , as well as With From First to Last , A Skylit Drive and Vanna . In the summer of 2007 the group played for the first time on the full Warped Tour .

2007–2010: Change of singer, signature with Fearless Records and Witness

During their first European tour as the opening act for Silverstein in late 2007, singer Craig Mabbitt left the band while the group was performing in the UK to spend more time with the family. Bassist Jared Warth took over the position of singer during the tour. When Mabbitt tried to get back into the band, the other musicians refused his re-entry at blessthefall. Mabbitt then founded The Word Alive and joined the metalcore band Escape the Fate , who had recently thrown their lead singer Ronnie Radke out of the band. The management of the band tried to convince Mabbitt to rejoin the band, but this categorically declined a renewed activity with the band due to personal differences.

At the end of September 2008, a replacement for Mabbitt was found in Beau Bokan , the former singer of Take the Crown . Bokan released two EPs and one album with Take the Crown, but the group broke up due to the departure of two musicians, poor management and financial problems.

After their tour with Silverstein, Before Their Eyes and Norma Jean, the group with producer Michael Baskette moved into the studio to work on their second album. In the same month the band signed a record deal with Fearless Records . In the summer, the band toured with August Burns Red and Enter Shikari . The second studio album, Witness , was finally released in October . This was followed by a tour with Drop Dead, Gorgeous , Finch and Vanna. In June 2010 blessthefall played concerts for the first time in Australia and New Zealand , where they could be seen as the opening act for Saosin and Story of the Year .

2010–2017: Time at Fearless Records

In February 2011 Mike Frisby announced the exit from the band in order to be able to orientate himself elsewhere in life. Former Before Their Eyes guitarist Elliott Gruenberg took his place . In May, Beau Bokan announced that Blessthefall would not be on the Warped Tour and would instead work on a new album. Just a few days later, the musicians began work on their third album with Michael Baskette in Orlando , Florida . The album called Awakening was released in early October 2011. In the summer, the band played on the All Stars Tour with Emmure , Motionless in White and Alesana . This was followed by a tour with Tonight Alive , Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and The Word Alive . In October 2012 it became known that the musicians had begun writing new pieces for their fourth album. Studio work began in mid-April 2012 and lasted about four weeks. Joey Sturgis was hired as a producer . Hollow Bodies , the band's fourth studio album, was released in August of the same year, sold almost 22,000 records within the first week of sales in the United States and thus entered the national album charts at number 15 .

In 2013 and 2015 the group played on the full Warped Tour . In May 2015, the musicians announced that they were working on their fifth studio album. To Those Left Behind was released in September of the same year. In September 2016 it was announced that the band would go on tour with Crown the Empire , New Years Day and Too Close to Touch . In the summer of 2017 , the band toured again on the Warped Tour.

Since 2018: Signature with Rise Records

At the end of January 2018, the group signed a record deal with Rise Records and announced their sixth studio album, Hard Feelings, for March of the same year. In April and May 2018 the band can be seen supporting Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria .
