Saosin is a post-hardcore band from Newport Beach , California .

Band history

Justin Shekoski of As Hope Dies and Beau Burchell formed the band in 2003 under the name "The Gift". A demo was recorded, but except for one piece where Burchell sang, it only contained instrumentals . In Anthony Green they briefly found a singer with whom the EP Translating the Name was recorded. Shortly thereafter, Green left the band and formed Circa Survive . As a replacement, Cove Reber came to Saosin. After bassist Zack Kennedy left the band for personal reasons, he was replaced by Chris Sorenson. In 2005 the band played on the Warped Tour, among others . At that time, a video for Bury Your Head was made . The band signed a contract with Capitol Records , which released the EP Saosin on September 26, 2006 and the debut album of the same name shortly afterwards. The band later also played on the Taste of Chaos tour and toured with Bleeding Through and Senses Fail .
