Too Close to Touch is a post-hardcore / alternative rock band from Lexington , Kentucky , formed in 2013 .

history

The band was founded in Lexington in the US state of Kentucky by singer Keaton Pierce, the two guitarists Thomas Kidd and Mason Marble, as well as bassist Travis Moore and drummer Kenneth Downey.

In June 2014 the group played a couple of concerts with PVRIS and Emarosa . In October 2014 the group signed a recording deal with the record company Epitaph Records and released their first EP named after the band on October 21, 2014. The debut album, Nerve Endings , was released on March 24, 2015 via the label. Kellin Quinn and Tyler Smith can be heard as guest musicians .

Between June 25 and July 12, 2015, the group toured the United States and Canada as the opening act for I the Mighty . At the end of March 2016 it was announced that the group would be part of the Warped Tour , which was to take place in the summer. During the Warped Tour, the band played on the Cyclops Stage with Against the Current , Ghost Town , Assuming We Survive and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! .

The band was nominated for an Alternative Press Music Award in the Best Underground Band category and later won that award. On the day of the award ceremony, the group announced the release of their second album Haven't Been Myself for September 23, 2016. The album later made it into the list of the 50 Best Albums of 2016 by British music magazine Rock Sound , where it was ranked 29 was listed.

style

Too Close to Touch play a mixture of alternative rock and post-hardcore , which is comparable to I the Mighty , Sleeping with Sirens , Emarosa and The 1975 . Unlike other post-hardcore bands, the group works without the musical contrast between hard riffs and poppy choruses.
