Megan Keller (* 1. May 1996 in Farmington , Michigan ) is an American ice hockey player who for since the 2014/15 season Boston College in the Hockey East on the position of the defense plays. Keller has been a member of the United States' national women's ice hockey team since 2014 and has been a multiple world and Olympic champion.

Career

Keller spent her high school years at North Farmington High School and was active on the Detroit Honeybaked junior team . There she played between 2010 and 2014 and during this time took part with the US U18 team at the U18 World Junior Championship in 2014 , where she won the silver medal. It also had the best plus / minus statistics of the tournament.

After graduating from school in the summer of 2014, the defender moved to Boston College , where she played for the university team in Hockey East , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , while studying . In the same year, Keller made his debut in the 4 Nations Cup 2014 in the women's national ice hockey team of the United States and took part in the 2015 World Cup the following spring . In the following season, the defender won the division championship with the team from Boston College and was also named the best defender in the league. She then followed up with her second world title at the 2016 World Cup. Her third year of college was just as successful. Again she won the Hockey East with college and was also awarded the Cammi Granato Award as the best player in the division . In the 2017 world championships , she again secured the gold medal - her third overall.

As a result, the defender interrupted her studies in the summer of 2017 and was recruited by the US ice hockey association USA Hockey to prepare for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . With these, Keller secured the Olympic gold medal.
