Karl Rembert (born January 18, 1868 in Baukau , Westphalia ; † September 14, 1966 in Uerdingen ) was a German high school teacher, local history specialist and museum director.

Life

Rembert was the son of a tanner . After the elementary and rectorate school in Herne, he attended high schools in Dortmund and Bochum. In the triple year he began to study German and history at the Friedrichs University in Halle . In 1889 he was reciprocated in the Corps Teutonia Halle . As an inactive , he moved to the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Royal Academy in Munster i. In 1893 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. He spent the seminar year in Münster at the Paulinum grammar school , the probationary year until Easter 1897 at the Hammonense grammar school . After he had been employed as a scientific assistant teacher at the Ratsgymnasium Bielefeld , he came as a senior teacher at the Krefeld grammar school on Moltkeplatz . There he was appointed high school professor and senior teacher . In Krefeld in 1918 he became a co-founder and long-term chairman of the Association for Local Studies. From 1921 he published the magazine for the Niederrheinische Heimatpflege “Die Heimat”, which by 1952 had 90 issues. In 1928 he was a founding member of the Linker Niederrhein Association . In 1929 he was appointed full-time museum director of the new Krefeld Heimatmuseum. In 1938 it was renamed the Burg Linn Museum Center .
