Farmington is a city in Oakland County in the US state of Michigan . The city is located in the Detroit metro and had 10,423 inhabitants in 2000 .

According to the 2000 census, 10,423 people lived in the city in 4,825 households. The population density was 1507 inhabitants per km 2 .
