Oak Park is a city in Oakland County in the American state of Michigan . According to the 2000 census, Oak Park has a population of 29,793.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 13.0 km².
history
The settlement of the area of today's Oak Park can be proven for the year 1822, the city is mentioned for the first time in 1840. The first census for the proof of a village community took place in the year 1927. October 1945.
Oak Park is home to six Lustron Company steel mills from the early 1950s.
In 2002 and 2004, Oak Park was expanded to include the Royal Oak Charter Township .

education
Oak Park's first single-classroom Clinton School was established around 1900. The Clinton School was expanded to Junior High School around 1960 , and another high school , Robert Frost High, was built. A special feature is the Lessenger Elementary School , a school especially for children with learning disabilities.
