Lake Angelus is a city in Oakland County in Michigan , United States . The city has 326 inhabitants. In 2000, 326 people lived in the village.
geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 4.2 km². 2.7 km² of this is land and 1.5 km² (= 35.80%) is water. The body of water consists mainly of the lake of the same name, which is completely surrounded by the village. The lake drains westward over Mohawk Lake to Wormer Lake and from there over Schoolhouse Lake to the connection between Loon Lake and Lake Oakland.
To the north and east of Lake Angelus is Auburn Hills , Pontiac to the south and Waterford Township to the west . In an east-west direction, Interstate 75 runs along the northern edge of the city area.
history
Lake Angelus arose around the lake that was then called Three Mile Lake in the early 20th century . Most of the settlers were Detroiters who moved from the city to the countryside. The lake was renamed in the 1920s. In May 1930 the place was registered as a village , which gave the place a partial self-government. Incorporated was as Lake Angelus City on January 1, 1984th

At the time of the United States Census 2000, Lake Angelus inhabited 326 people. The population density was 121.0 people per km ². There were 146 housing units at an average of 54.2 per km ². The Lake Angelus population was 96.32% White , 0.92% Black or African American , 0% Native American , 2.76% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0% said they were racial , and 0% named two or more races. 1.23% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
