Specialty

On the morning of December 11, 1990, the largest road traffic accident ( pile-up ) in the United States so far occurred on I-75 in both directions near Calhoun, Tennessee (the lowest point of the road) : 99 cars were involved in accidents due to fog ( inversion weather ) People died and 42 were injured. However, the fog was not a natural phenomenon. The fog was too thick for that. There were several factories nearby. The fog is said to have originated in a paper mill. The wind blew the fog towards the street. The whole thing is called inversion.
