The highway Interstate 44 (abbreviated I-44 ) is part of the Interstate Highway System in the United States. It begins on US Highway 277 in Wichita Falls , Texas and ends in St. Louis , Missouri on Interstate 55 . I-44 is one of five interstates built to bypass Route 66 . It connects the greater areas of Oklahoma City and St. Louis.
