The Interstate H-201 (short- H-201 ) is an Interstate Highway , which in the state of Hawaii on the island of O'ahu runs. Also known as the Moanalua Freeway , Interstate is a 6 km bypass route from Interstate H-1 . It connects exits 13 and 19 of the H-1. Although the road was planned as an interstate in 1989, it was designated Route 78 through mid-2004 . After initial considerations, the designation H-1A was also considered, but since no letters are allowed in the numbering, the Hawai'i Department of Transportation decided on the number 201.
