Davie is a city in Broward County in the US state of Florida with 91,992 inhabitants (as of 2010). The urban area has a size of 88.5 km².
geography
Davie is located about 30 km north of Miami . Adjacent communities in clockwise order starting from the north are: Sunrise , Plantation , Fort Lauderdale , Dania Beach , Hollywood , Cooper City , Southwest Ranches , Pembroke Pines, and Weston .

On August 27, 2005, Davie was devastated by Hurricane Katrina .

Davie currently has 34 different churches from 16 different denominations, of which the Catholic Church is most strongly represented with 4 churches. There are 11 churches that do not belong to any denomination (as of 2004).

According to the 2010 census, the 91,992 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 37,306 households. The population density was 1062.3 inh / km². 80.1% of the population identified themselves as whites , 8.0% as African-Americans , 0.3% as Indians and 4.6% as Asian Americans . 3.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.1% to several ethnic groups. 29.1% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 36.5% of all households and persons aged 65 and over in 22.0% of all households. 68.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.64 people and the average family size was 3.14 people.
26.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 27.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 48.4% of the population were male and 51.6% were female.
The median annual income was $ 58,313, with 10.9% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, 75.47% of the population spoke English as their first language, 18.74% spoke Spanish and 5.79% spoke another language.
