Lighthouse Point is a city in Broward County in the US state of Florida with 10,344 inhabitants (as of 2010). The geographical coordinates are: 26.28 ° North, 80.09 ° West. The urban area has a size of 6.2 km².

Lighthouse Point is located approximately 15 km north of Fort Lauderdale and 45 km north of Miami . Adjacent communities are Deerfield Beach , Hillsboro Beach, and Pompano Beach .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 10,344 inhabitants were distributed over 5,774 households. The population density was 1753.2 inh / km². 94.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.7% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 1.6% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.6% to several ethnic groups. 7.5% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 21.1% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 35.0% of all households. 57.2% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.11 people and the average family size was 2.74 people.
18.0% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 17.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 34.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 29.9% were 60 years old or more. The mean age was 49 years. 49.3% of the population were male and 50.7% were female.
The median annual income was $ 76,106, with 7.4% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 89.18% of the population, 4.64% spoke Spanish and 6.18% had another mother tongue.

Lighthouse Point is affected to the west by US Highway 1 , and Interstate 95 runs three kilometers west in a north-south direction past the city. The nearest airports are the national Pompano Beach Airpark and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport .
