Cooper City is a city in Broward County in the US state of Florida with 28,547 inhabitants (as of 2010). The geographic coordinates are: 26.05 ° North, 80.29 ° West. The urban area has a size of 17.4 km².

Cooper City is located approximately 15 km southwest of Fort Lauderdale and 25 km north of Miami . Adjacent communities are Hollywood , Davie , Pembroke Pines, and Southwest Ranches .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 28,547 inhabitants were distributed over 9,912 households. The population density was 1,740.7 inh / km². 85.1% of the population identified themselves as whites , 4.9% as African-Americans , 0.3% as Indians and 5.5% as Asian Americans . 1.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.4% to several ethnic groups. 22.8% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 44.2% of all households and people aged 65 or over in 19.6% of all households. 84.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.96 people and the average family size was 3.22 people.
28.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 19.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 36.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 14.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 48.4% of the population were male and 51.6% were female.
