Hallandale is a city in Broward County in the US state of Florida with 37,113 inhabitants (as of 2010). The urban area has a size of 11.8 km².

Hallandale Beach is about 9 miles south of Fort Lauderdale and 9 miles north of Miami . Adjacent municipalities are Hollywood and Pembroke Park (Broward) as well as Golden Beach and Aventura ( Miami-Dade ) in the south .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 37,113 inhabitants were distributed over 27,057 households. The population density was 3404.9 inh / km². 73.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 18.7% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 1.4% as Asian Americans . 3.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.6% to several ethnic groups. 31.8% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 18.8% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 38.9% of all households. 51.1% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.02 people and the average family size was 2.73 people.
16.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 26.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 31.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 47 years. 47.5% of the population were male and 52.5% were female.
The median annual income was $ 34,645, with 20.6% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 59.66% of the population, 19.50% spoke Spanish and 20.84% had another mother tongue.
